Almost every OTHER manufacturer's helicopters are made almost entirely from plastic.  The frames are plastic, the head is plastic, the swashplate is plastic, the washout is plastic, the tail slider is plastic, the blade grips
are plastic, all plastic.  Now why do you think other companies use plastic ?  Because it's cheap !  They are interested in maximizing their profit, all the while telling you that they are producing a high quality unit.  But, their deception is obvious.  While they are taking your money for a plastic helicopter, they offer a full line of machined metal "upgrades" that you can purchase at outrageous prices.  Why make the upgrades ?  Because every heli pilot eventually learns that plastic parts quickly wear and induce "slop" into the mechanics and control of their helicopter.  So, they make a ton of money up front selling you a cheap plastic kit, then make more money on you later selling you expensive upgrades.
